There is much debate about Nike tour department equipment. From my understanding, the only truly tour issue equipment that is released now has an FTO serial number or the initials of a tour player along with an 8 digit number. I have however found a driver head that has an FFO serial number, and I'm 100% sure it's from the PGA tour Many of the tour issue stuff that supposedly has no serial # is tough to identify. If the source is trusted, then it is tour issue. But I know for a fact that the sales reps get samples that don't have serial #'s. More then likely, it was a raw head that came off tour van with nothing done to it. Following up on this after acquiring a few new tour issue Nike products. It is well established that older models had BTO### and OTO#### as the most common serial numbers. The two SQ II tour issue fairways I STILL have in the bag both have OTO### serials. What great clubs. However, some of the new stuff has is a bit different and the FT is more common, and sometimes without the 'O'. First, I have a glued hosel VR tour (LTD proto) that has an FTO### number. I also have an VR LTD that has an FT###, no 'O' that I am 100% certain is a tour club. With regard to the Covert line, I have a tour issue Performance 5 wood with no serial number whatsoever and a tour issue Covert Tour Driver with an OR### serial number. The LTD tour head and the Covert driver head also both have raised 'dots' in the white swoosh on the sole. One dot on the VT LTD, and two dots on the Covert driver. Finally, the wedges have a huge serial number that starts with the players initials and then a series of numbers that correspond with the date it was produced, but they are out of order. I have also seen more than a few wedges with these long serials numbers that also have '27' stamped on them. I have no idea what that means, but the wedges I own and Tiger and Rory's wedges photographed by the folks who visited the Oven have the same type of serial number and also the '27.' I believe an explanation of the wedge serial numbers is somewhere in the 'Oven' thread, but there are a lot of pages and I didn't bother trying to find it. It's there though if you look for it. Edited by Judge Smails, 26 September 2013 - 09:12 AM. Yeah, this is an old post I found while searching for confirmation of a few tour issue nike products. I just thought I would add some information for those who found the thread in the future and were looking for answers. Would a Tour Issue Nike CT 2.0 Tour, from the Oven (supposedly), have an 'OHT-######-27' serial number? Also, would it have two dots in the swoosh on the sole and no alignment aid on the crown? Seems genuine, but thought I'd ask someone with experience of Nike Tour Issue clubs. Sounds potentially legit. My CP 2.0 fairway has an FT-xxxxxx-27 serial number. The two dots in the swoosh definitely indicates tour issue, although - at least as fairways are concerned - some do, and some don't. The lack of alignment aid on the crown is also indicative of a tour club. Yeah, this is an old post I found while searching for confirmation of a few tour issue nike products.
